Re: Trailing spouse in Houston!
Hi All! I just found this thread and am so pleased! I too am a Stoney Quine - a little different situation in that I am the one whose employer transferred me so I have Hubby staying at home looking after the wee ones. That said - we are both desperate to find a group of people that we can meet up with to chat about all things familiar!!! We're living out in Cypress (290 & Barker Cypress) but will drive to meet folks.
My husband played football when we were back home and really needs to find a team here that he can hook up with and start playing again - if anyone's husband's know of anything he can join I would love for you to send me details.......
Thrilled to have found this site - can't quite beleive it took me so long

I'm off back home tomorrow but would love to get together in the New Year, I'm down in Pearland and would be happy to have y'all here or we could do a meet-up somewhere more central for you Northwesterners. Send me a PM if you are up for it and I will try to arrange something when I get back .

Re: Trailing spouse in Houston!
Ok everyone so consensus please:
Day of week best for everyone
Time of day - lunch maybe
Location that will work. We'll all have to travel a little bit but seeing as we're stretched from Woodlands, to Pearland the Katy, we need to figure this one out. How about somewhere inside the loop?
Answers on a postcard please and I'll get organizing. 2011 is the year of action! Am gonna PM this to you all too.

Re: Trailing spouse in Houston!
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and am a 'trailing spouse'
We don't have children so haven't got caught up in the school Mum's scenario.
I have been in Houston on and off for a few years now but thought it would be nice to find some chums to have coffee with, maybe shopping etc etc.
Yorkieabroad - we have done the BPMS150 twice - great event if you haven't done it before!
I would pm some of you but they system won't seem to let me (unless I am being stupid )

I'm a stay at home dad with 3 kids in elementary - I'll probably pass on the shopping thanks!!
This'll be my 3rd MS150, although the first was really only an MS75 as the first day was cancelled due to flooding!
System wont let you PM until you've got 3(?) posts to your name.

Re: Trailing spouse in Houston!
The wet one was my first so I guess I got a 'gentle' introduction! Lat year's was great though, not so windy! I won't be doing this years as the London marathon falls on the same weekend so I am heading home for that.
So where in Yorkshire are you from?

Yeah, that first year was a big let down...
Last year was good though - strong headwinds for most of the training rides and a nice tailwind for the event itself....made for an easy weekend. Hope we're as lucky this year!
