Default Brits in Martinez/Pleasant Hill

Any expats in and around the Martinez/Pleasant Hill vicinity of the Bay Area? Family and I have been here for almost a year, wife is USC but as a UKC, I'm looking for the odd dose of all things Brit-related every now and again. I work in SF, but with a young family, need to be closer to home.

Hi Muir, im sorry I cant help directly but hear the call. I'm staying in Pleasant Hill this week to try out for a job here with a view to moving. I'd be covering the east bay area as a healthcare sales person. I'd be interested in your experiences so far as im finding this an almost impossible decision to make, mainly from the point of view of costs and wheather we can live on what i would earn. Glad to meet for a beer this week if your interested in some company all the best. Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply. I hear you - be more than happy to share what I know. Seems that we need to make three posts in total before we can agree time/date this week between us. One more response from us both and we should be there!

Regards,

Hugh

Hi Hugh,

Good to hear from you. Thanks for the reply. What do you do here?

I have a Wife and Kids myself but the likelihood is that I would need to come first (if it happens!) so we can get things sorted out at home. Its a big decision!

All the best.

Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm involved in writing and managing proposals and commute daily into SF. Commute, using the BART train, is fine from where you'll be.

Tough to leave the family; that's exactly what I did. What's the role you'll be pursuing over here?

Hugh

I'm a monitoring specialist with Covidien so sell to Hospitals / Doctors and would cover the East Bay area.

Hugh, great to meet you last week. Thanks so much for the thoughtful advice (and for a good chat over dinner/drinks). Thoughts and best wishes to you and your family. Paul
