Default Azusa, CA - anyone near there?

Hi
I'm going to be moving from Ohio to Azusa next month - family will be joining me once our house sells so could be a while, could be pretty quick.
Is anyone in the area and want to meet up for a pie & a pint?
Thanks

Paul

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on this site in quite a while. My fiance is from Middlesbrough and will be arriving in the US next week. We used to live together in Azusa! We are now in Pasadena. Where in the UK are you from?

Hi
Sorry - the move completely wrecked my mind!

I'm originally from Newcastle. I'm working in Azusa but we've bought a house out in Chino.

The "train leaving" line was a running gag of Jack Benny for over a decade.

We are not a million miles from Chino, but don't know anything about Azusa.

We're sort of between Chino and Azusa. If you take the 71 through the Kellog interchange (10/57/71) then you're only a few miles from us at that point.

Hi Geoff

Passed through Walnut a few times (admittedly not necessarily on purpose) when I was getting to know the area. Looked nice!

Nice... and expensive which is why we're moving away! Houses around here are selling for $1m on average, 3 bed 2000-2300sqft kind of sizes. Crazy.

Wow! Where are you moving to?

Prices are certainly higher here than Ohio! I didn't have a mortgage there but certainly do now

High Desert, Apple Valley area. Up I-15 through Cajon Pass, turn right at Victorville!

Currently in escrow for a 2500sqft 1acre 4bd3ba modern ranch house in a 9-rated school area for $260k. Big kitchen for me; big master bedroom for her.

We looked at Chino/Eastvale but just would've struggled financially tbh. In terms of numbers the houses there were within reach, ~500k for what we were looking for, but small gardens and houses standing in each other's shadows, plus not much spare income... nah.

I have a friend in Indiana: 4500sqft house, 2 acres of land, ride-on mower, very nice house, only paid $130k about 5 years ago.

I know what you mean - we got a new build in Chino. Nice area, good schools and we could move in quick like we needed. But the garden is tiny, especially after what we had in Ohio.
Good luck with the move - sounds a great area! That commute to Azusa would have killed me though!

Definitely not commuting, especially Cajon Pass. Three hospitals up there, wife got offered something like 5 different positions total across the 3, but it's taken weeks for them to actually get their asses in gear and send her an employment contract.

And I work at home.

Nice! Wish I could do that!

If you ever fancy a pint (or something) let me know! Still not that far away (relatively speaking)
