I don't know if you know that there is a meetup group in Denver, which is meeting for a pint next week.

Just moved to Lakewood with the family this week and delighted to see this thread! Here as a trailing spouse so I need to find some stuff to occupy myself til I get sorted especially when the kids are at school. My husband is worried I might get fed up, but I have the whole of this site to trawl through first.

Thanks for the info here!

Hi everyone. Just a note....Iceland Air are flying Heathrow or Gatwick to Denver via Iceland. At present the fares are a third to a half cheaper than the other airlines. Not sure how long they have been doing this route but it's the first year I've seen it. The flight time is only 1 hour longer than the direct, except you have to add a 1.5 hour stopover. Great saving for relatives visiting or large groups flying either way!

So happy to find this thread. We are making the move to Denver at the beginning of 2015. I'm American (now with UK citizenship, 12 years in the UK) but have never lived in Colorado before. My British husband and I are planning the move because we decided we definitely need more sunshine in our lives (and I didn't fancy moving back to my native New York). It's so great to know there's such a friendly expat community in Colorado

Cheers
Gloria

Hi Gloria

I just echo what you have put! We leave England in June and can't wait for sunny days, friendly people and negativity that surrounds the UK at present. Just a shame we can't pack our friends and family with us.

By all means ask what you need to. My wife's family all from Colorado so we've spent lots of time there. Quite daunting but very excited as are our two children.

Hi everyone, I'm not quite an expat yet but I'm here for 90 days on VWP visiting my American boyfriend here in Colorado Springs and we would love to meet other Brits here.

Hi yukichon,
I am not an expert, but why don't you put your kids some social playground for kids where they can learn many things like languages, dancing and learning and many of the example Bearfootplay Social play ground.
