Re: UAE End of Contract Service Benefit
Your comments are only partially the story as well. Given the high turnover of expats in Dubai most people probably leave their jobs before the full five years are up, and while many will have been made redundant most won't have. Saying 21 days is only giving part of the story and its a highly misleading omission.
Yet when it comes to gratuity the experts have to be backed against a wall before admitting that gratuity can be reduced for fewer than five years of service. What I said may have been based on experience but it was the experience aligned with the actual factual of the labour laws, and I was the one to point out what the labour laws really do say and even provided a link that clarified the laws, not the so called expert.

That's because what I say is correct and based on knowledge of labour law, not just your sole experience. You may have been paid a reduced gratuity, but you never said anything about the circumstances of your departure (& frankly we all thought you'd been sacked anyway) so a partial story is of no use to anyone.
Why don't you stick to your usual ramblings of why The Greens is the greatest place on earth?

Some companies pay more Gratuity, we get 30 days up to 5 years and 37 after 5. Also it's calculated on 110% of finishing basic.

I will believe that when you have left and the money is in the bank. As for the working days-v-calendar days argument voiced by Deano, that was the issue I was trying to raise in earlier posts, but it seems to have been swept aside.

Nope 30 days at 110% basic for first 5 years then 37 days at same for all the rest. They also dont take back the percentages if you leave on good terms. Problem is 3 months notice either way so they can make you stay for the 90 days.

Er, no it isn't. UAE Labour Law says nothing about an increased percentage. That may be what your company does, but it is not standard practice.
