Ministry of education UAE interview

Hi There,

I have been invited for an interview for the post of science teacher for MoE in London in 2 weeks. They also have asked for a lesson plan but no topic given and also to do a test again no information provided.
What should I expect? Anybody else gone through the same procedure? Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Vandana

Re: Ministry of education UAE interview

Hello,
My interview was in London. As soon as reached there I was asked to register and given the written exam paper. It was based on all 3 sciences and a bit of geography. Not very difficult but had some questions I really had to think about.
I waited for about 35 mins for face to face interview. I was not asked to deliver the lesson I prepared. To be honest the interview was not more than 5-7 mins. They didn't ask me any subject related or classroom related questions.nothing on teaching ideology either.
I found out they selected my CV for health science rather than science. I was asked if I was ok with that. Questions like why UAE, how many dependents, a bit about myself general interview things. The only logical question I was asked was to explain how would I approach teaching health sciences to girls in a conservative country.

Hope it helps!
If you have any other questions please ask. I would be happy to help.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your reply. Do you remember what sorts of questions you were asked and if they were at GCSE or A-Level standards. I'm a chemistry specialist so I'm thinking if I will get Biology and Physics A-Level questions.

Thank you once again

There is no particular interview format. It depends entirely on who is doing the interviewing. You may get someone who grills you intently on teaching methodology. You may get someone who asks you about dependents and then is finished in 5 minutes. It won't be a long interview as the interviewers have to stick to a time schedule.

If you are asking about the written test, it was KS3/GCSE level. Nothing too complicated but the basic knowledge of all 3 sciences. Wasn’t asked a single question about the subject in face to face interview. I felt English teachers had the longer interviews, while I was waiting I could hear some teacher trying to explain how they would teach phonetics. They did a demo lessons.
