Default Looking for information on Basra/Iraq/Majnoon

Hey everyone, I might be heading to Basra (working for Big Oil). Can anyone share their experience in the region? Is it safe these days? I'll be working on Majnoon field. How were the camps/temp accommodations?

Cheers!

I'll be in the Shell camp - any thoughts on camp life?

The main Camp (PC) is pretty good, 2 gyms, tennis/football/squash courts and food was ok. Its a bit prison like after a few weeks as you cant freely move around the field.

Yeah, the prison-vibe seems like a drag. How long did you last out there?

3 years, it is better than working offshore if that is what you are used to? not bad if you are doing 28/28 and your job is not outside all the time.

Yes, will be 28/28. Just don't want to go too crazy
