Any updates to share? Based on what I have been told, they still need to check with the ministry on visa approval. I guess it will be a while before we get our visas. Would love to hear any positive news, just want this to be done and over with now.

My personal opinion, having read this thread and having no experience otherwise, is that I would be running a mile. If you're having this much trouble even just hearing about recruitment, when you would think they'd be playing nice, how much worse will it be if you ever arrive?

Why? The thing about banging your head against a brick wall is that it feels so good when you stop.
It seems blindingly apparent to me that they are not particularly interested in any of you. Time to drop this bone and move on. IMHO.
