Re: Doctor in Qatar??
I have a similar offer from HMC, I'm a UK GP considering moving to Qatar.
Any of the previous posters able to pass on any experiences thus far, sage wisdom, advice etc
Did you manage to negotiate your salary offer at all?
Did it include indemnity? If not, who do you use for cover?
What is the accommodation like? Are you in Barwa city? (At least initially)

Re: Doctor in Qatar??
8 hrs per day for 5 days 40 hrs per week for any of the 21 clinics run by HMC
Or doing 10 hrs per day for 4 days mobile session.
I would like to know a typical day ie how many pts are seen doing either shift any additional work paper work admin stuff etc.
Many thanks
I would like to know the clinical workload for doing either sifts.

Re: Doctor in Qatar??
Hi all
Short summary of my knowledge of hmc mobile Dr service
Initial offers arrive 4 to 9 months after interview (9/12 in my case)
Range 59 to 69,000 qat/month
Not negotiable that I know
After that you can wait another 6-12 months before relocating
Shortage of villas- families end up in barwa City apts for 6-9/12 at least
No annual leave for the first 9/12
Workload is very light compared to UK. You see 6-7 pats for shift due to traffic
Hope this helps

Just checking you said 6-9 pts for mobile GP I presume these are all home visits for a 10 hr shift that seems a lot given travel and traffics may be a problem, no break in the shift and I presume this a 24 hours service so a shift could be day or night or weekend though you work 4 shifts and have 4 days off, I don't like Woking nights don't mind weekend on rota basis. By the way what is considered a weekend in Qatar. Thanks again
