Default Chartered Surveyor (RICS) - Dubai - Salery?

Hi All,

I am negotiating a package to move to Dubai this week. I will be a recently qualified chartered surveyor (RICS) and moving on my own. There appears to lots of information on Quantity surveyors, but little on RICS valuers.

Could anyone provide a steer as to the type of package I should aim for, and what could be reasonably expectantly to be achieved?

It would be agreed now to move in November.

Thank you all for your help.

Henry

That's not a bad financial carrot for a surveyor

Celery's more of a stick than a carrot.

You should take this information with a pinch of salt, or alternatively a spot of hummus.

Hmm. Indeed.

Come to Dubai, you've got a tiny amount of experience but we'll give you 70k sterling tax free....

One of the large UK-based surveying practices operating in UAE does, I think, a salary survey/report for all types of construction / built-environment professionals. I can't remember the name of the firm just now, but they're one of the primary cabal in the UK.

However, as with everything, you're only worth what someone is willing to pay for you. I don't know your side of the industry very well, but I do wonder about the need for properly-qualified valuers in the UAE. Accordingly, let your prospective employer make the first bid, and try to negotiate up from there.

Thank you for that - it is Macdonald and Company who write the reports and it has pointed me in the right direction. (2012 Report)

Maccy D's is a recruiter isn't it? Think Bahtat is referring to another report.

GP surveyors would be different to QS as there's not as much competition from the sub-continent/Raj in those particular roles.
