Default Vermont RFE

We just received online notification that the VSC needs further evidence.

Does anyone have any Vermont RFE stories that aren't a complete nightmare (i.e. before VSC moved buildings)? I'm also interested to know the types of things that they have asked for with RFE's in the past.

I've been racking my brains to try and figure out what we missed, I thought we had everything covered.

Hi, Clare...

I'm afraid, this might be a horror story...

Got RFE'd for having submitted "wrong" divorce decree (decree nisi instead of decree absolute). So far, the rest is silence...

Hope they will speed up a bit...

Good luck,

Rebecca.

Thanks Rebecca.

My fiance was divorced 6 years ago and I don't know exactly what papers he sent with the forms. I figure it has to be either that or there was a problem with the ADIT photos we submitted.

It could also be a form filling error. We'll have to wait and see.

I hope you hear something soon. We have only been waiting 56 days and that has been frustrating enough.

Good luck, I'll be keeping an eye out for your good news, I'm sure you will get some anyday now.

I have a Vermont story that's not a complete nightmare, and it's after they moved buildings. I put my I-129F application packet online (yes I know there are errors, but we still got approved). Just go to my website and click on "Our K1 Visa Experience". That page is still heavily under construction, but you can see what we submitted if you think it will help you.

Sign the guestbook too, please!

When we applied for the I-129F a few years ago we got a RFE. Don't try and
wreck your brain on what might be wrong or missing. We had everything
required and still got a RFE, so we just send them more of the same and it
all went pretty smooth afterwards. Now since they moved I have no idea
what's going on with them although it seems like they are finally getting
back to work. Atleast the I-751 made a big jump and that's what we've been
waiting for since 4/23/2002

Called BCIS today to raise a query about why 2 weeks have passed since they received the info they requested for the RFE and still no new processing time. The online status still says that they sent us a request for further information

Well it turns out that you are only allowed to ask one question per 30 days and as we did as the website said and enquired after the projected processing time had expired on September 16th we will have to wait until the end of this week to ask about the whereabouts of the RFE info we sent them.

Oh well. Hopefully the site will change this week and we will have a new projected processing time.

So if, as you say, you had sent in everything that was required, what did the RFE you for? What was it they wanted?

We sent in everything that the RFE required us to send.

That was further evidence that we had met in the past 2 years.

We included passport stamps, statements from us and friends that were present when we met and know us as a couple, travel itineries, credit card statements and my car insurance document that have my fiance as a named driver in December last year.

Fingers crossed that this was enough.

Hi Clare,

As we all know it mostly takes a "longer " time after RFE at Vermont service center as other service centers for a final approval!!!Good luck anyways!!!

clare,

It might not make you feel any better, but look up this number on the BCIS online status: EAC-03-168-52470

Hi.
I was RFE'd in August . After sending Vermont what documents they're asking ( sent 1st week of Sept ) they didn't update our status till Sept. 26 and since then they have changed the time line 3x . I don't know if it's a case to case basis or what ( I'm I-130 BTW ) but as of now , I'm still waiting for approval.

Seems odd the levels of evidence Vermont require for this - I hear of some
people sending in all kinds of things and still being asked for more - I was
concerned as my fiancee only submitted 2 photos and 2 letters from friends
but it was approved on first pass-thru - having said that, we were kissing
in the photographs so I guess it's fairly conclusive that we had met....

Excuse me, I never heard that before. Who says we're only allowed 30 days to ask, and was it the customer (dis)service line that you called?

Geee- I should not have been so nosey- looked at *this* and it did not exactly make me feel better, LOL... and here I thought I was on the top of the waiting list by now!

If there is one thing made clear by either this or my (on July 10 bla bla bla) case status: everything is relative... but some day counts are just more relative than others...

Good luck, Clare- hope you will make a lucky escape very very soon!
