I used turbo tax for the first time this year and we have foreign earned income and it was not a problem.

Okay so I tried to file this years taxes on turbotax and it said I needed a US credit card to pay which I do not have so seems like this isn't going to work.

Also my husband (USC) has 2015 to file also? How do we do this without paying thousands in fee's?

Can we use H&R block or are they also going to rip us off? Lol..

We have a W2 from 2015 which is partial due to him moving here in June in which he worked from Sept -June. He hasn't worked since as he looks after our daughter.

Could anyone help?

You could do it by hand, as I suggested earlier.

I don't understand what you mean. You can't have a partial W-2. It reflects all the US earnings during the year. Can you please clarify?

I don't know if that makes any difference to anything?

Sorry for all the sporadic questions!

Regarding the fee's for the CR1..

Could someone confirm how much in total i'll be paying?
Including medical examination, doctors records, police report etc?

I'm finding it hard to get a rough total..

I-130 $535.00
Visa fee $325.00 (paid at interview)
Courier fee ? not sure as I haven't personally gotten there yet
Green card fee $220.00

Medical exam £290
ACRO police cert £45

Dr's records are determined by your individual GP charging policy. Ours is £10, I've read other people being charged £50!
Vaccinations should be free if done at the GP, Knightsbridge will do them as well for a fee.

Thank you for this!

I just called my Doctors and they've told me that either I pay £30-50 for them to do it for me or I can registered for their system where I can log in and print it all out myself. They do not do the info on a CD so lots of paper!

Did you have yours printed?

I'll need to figure out what vaccinations i've had and get the doctor to give me any I don't have to save paying deffo!

When do you pay the green card fee? When in the states?

I don't have the direct link handy, but if you go to the CDC website they have a list of required vaccinations for immigration.

When do you pay the green card fee?
I'm not sure exactly when, but you pay this after your visa is approved but before you leave the UK.

Green card fee is once you've been for interview and approved, but before you depart the UK.

Typical vacs are MMR, Tdap, Tetanus and flu only during Oct-Mar.

Husband only needs tetanus, which will be done for free at GP. He hasn't gotten a letter from the GP yet (mental health history) but last time he wanted his records, they charged a tenner so probably about the same this time.

Do they need my full medical history from birth or just a record of my vaccinations? Record history from birth sounds crazy lol.. that'll be a lot of pages!
Do we take this with us just to Knightsbridge or also to the interview?

They don't need your medical history at all, and if you don't have anything on your medical history there is nothing to give them.

Aside from occasional vaccinations, my medical history was virtually non-existent when I applied for my CR-1 (I think my most recent "prescription" was for an elastic bandage when I whacked my knee at school when I was 17), and not having anything to take to the medical was a complete non-issue. I think I had one vaccination that was "missing", but to the best of my memory I didn't have any vaccinations documented.

Honestly the most I ever went to the GP was last year whilst pregnant with my daughter lol..

Okay so I won't bother.. I'll ask about my vaccinations however I think I'm up to date!

They'll check via my blood test I assume to see for themselves too?

I didn't realise it wasn't essential! I have no mental health history or any illnesses or diseases so I'm safe to assume I shouldn't bother?
