Oh, Denise! I thought you'd be well on the way by now - thought I was one of the last from summer 2007 to get "done". What on earth is going on in SC? So sorry !

I guess they will fall even further too - I think you'll probably be interviewed before next year at this rate

Re: TSC ROLL CALL - N-400 FILERS
I had the interview this morning it was pretty quick!
I got in line to go in, guards check your appointment letter and ID. Then you go to the 2nd floor, you give your interview notice to the guard and the interviewing officer calls you by your name. I think according to your appointment time. Be sure to be there at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time.
I was asked these questions:
Who is the Vice Pres?
What is 4th of July?
Independence from what country?
What is the Constitution?
I was asked to write a sentence.
Since my application is based on marriage, the officer asked if we are still married and if our kids live with us. The date we got married. She also asked if I travelled outside the US. She did not even look at my passport. I brought all the documents (original & copies) that I sent with my application but she did not even asked for it because she had my file and went through it during the interview. Just to be on the safe side, take the documents with you. Because she had a hard time finding my marriage certificate in the file LOL!
The interview lasted about 10 minutes. I asked when the oath ceremony, the officer told me that I will receive the notice in the mail. So, I guess I just have to wait for it.
As for parking I paid $20, it's right in the building's parking lot. I did not have time to look around for cheaper public parking because I was running out of time. I came just 10 minutes before my scheduled interview. Traffic as usual was horrible. So plan to leave your place early if you're taking I-95 South.
Reminder: Cellphones are not allowed inside.
Good luck!

Re: TSC ROLL CALL - N-400 FILERS
I am happy and relieved to report that my interview at the Miami Nat Center went off smoothly.
Even though it was early in the morning they were already running 30 min late by the time my name was called. The officer who interviewed me was very professional, even affable. He shot rapid fire questions at me about my background, how I met my husband, when we got married, what my family thought of him etc. He also threw the same question at me a couple of different ways during the questioning - I guess to see if my answers were consistent. All the time he flipped through my file (I could see papers all the way back to when I entered on my F1) and looked at my old advance paroles, my AOS application etc.
He asked me ~6 civics questions (let's see if I can remember them)
1. What do we celebrate on the 4th of July?
2. What is the Constitution?
3. Can the Constitution be changed?
4. Who is the Vice President?
5. What is the National Anthem?
6. WHat is the highest part of the judiciary?
I asked him jokingly why he didn't ask me about the 13 original states and he rolled his eyes and laughed and said they don't usually ask that because it takes too long and they have to give people multiple chances to get them all right.
Then I had to write 'The children bought some newspapers' and read out 'They are a happy family'.
It was all over in about 10 minutes.Would probably have been quicker if I hadn't made random chit-chat with the officer. In the end he stamped my application with a big red sign saying APPROVED and told me to expect my oath letter in the next few weeks. He said it would more than likely be in less than 30 days as they are trying to get things done quickly so people can still register to vote before the 10/6 deadline.
Am relieved and ecstatic to be almost at the end of this long journey. This site has helped me so much over the years and I really appreciate the efforts of everyone who takes the time to post experiences, advice - and yes even opinions
It's also rather surreal that the culmination of this 8 year journey took less than 15 minutes overall...... I appreciate the irony.
Here is my updated timeline for others who are waiting for Miami to move their cases along. Don't be fooled by the processing times they are posting on the website. It differs by application and individual.
4/30/2008 - N-400 Application Mailed
5/5/2008 - Application arrived at TSC
5/7/2008 - Check cashed - Shock! Horror! Disbelief!
5/16/08 - Received NOA, priority date 5/5/08
5/21/08 - Received Fingerprinting notice
5/28/08 - Fingerprinting complete
6/09/08 - Interview notice received (dated 06/03/08)
8/27/08 - Interview completed
