Tax returns for DCF Sydney
Hello ,
i will be going ahead with the DCF at sydney early next month.
I am a US citizen and my wife is a Australian citizen.
I had a few questions:
1) I believe we have to provide tax returns for the last 3 years.
Can I submit tax "transcripts" sent by the IRS or do they need photocopies of the tax returns?
2) We got married in a third country and have a marriage certificate from that country. Is that an issue? Do we have to get married in Australia to file DCF?
I read www.k1exit.com and it states this should not be a problem, but still wanted to know if anyone had other opinions.
Thanks to all.

Sydney DCF
Hey atcal1,
I'm in Sydney and going to DCF in January. We are going to stop our K1 and just do DCF when she comes to visit. I'm not sure about the tax transcripts however it doesn't matter where you got married for you to file DCF in Sydney. You just have to present the application yourself on any FRIDAY between 8:30am -11:00am.
Good luck, I hope all goes well for you. Are you both currently not together right now?

hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Currently i am in US and she is in sydney.
I read somewhere that tax transripts are acceptable so i think we should be ok.
I believe i can skip the friday 8-11 timing if we both go for the interview together.
from what i read:
either you apply on a friday like you said and then the aussie spouse goes alone for the intervire
or
you take an interview date by filing out the packet 3 advance and then we can both go together and i can submit the form that day itself. it could be any day other than friday for this .
Do you have any other info.
Thanks a lot.
