Not a word from BCIS since fingerprinting in January 2003 and it's been 13
months since they received Steve's application.
But on a happy note Steve and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this
past Friday. )

Re: Steve/Lisa-SundarV any news?
Congratulations on your anniversary.
A hint: this is perfect timing. Call the CIS customer service number.
Request that they schedule a new fingerprint appointment. Be very polite
but firm about it, explaining that once the time for your approval comes
around, you prefer not to have to wait again.
The reason is that fingerprints expire after 15 months. The best thing
about calling them a few months before the expiration date: I did that
when my I-485 was pending. INS ended up not scheduling another fingerprint
- instead, they simply approved the case. I assume that you are talking
about citizenship, so there would be an interview and the oath ceremony. I
don't think the oath necessarily has to take place within these 15 months,
but the interview up to approval needs to. So two months might still be
tight, but it is entirely possible that at this point, such a careful
phone call would make your case move ahead.

The good news is that I got promoted to manager at work. The funny thing is a situation came up where the customer was asking me if I could visit their site (which is a restricted government one). But as I was not a citizen, we had to find a citizen and I trained that person so they can do the task.
Oh well! life goes on.

Female N400 applications get priority
How are you guys keeping.
I heard a new news. Under Cleveland officers are taking mainly female applicants for processing the N400. Rest are kept in the shelf. The reason is Female applicants need not go through all the security checks (Other than Finger printing). So, it is easy for the officers to process the female cases.
What a mess. It looks like they are putting own rules and priorities.

So what happened to your case? weren't you applying from Columbus? Any change? What is your PD? If your fingerprinting was 12 months ago, it may be worthwhile for you to get scheduled for another fingerprinting.
Lisa: Did you call Regula's office lately to check what is going on with Steve's case?

Friend's wife applied for naturalization 2002 October - NSC, Cleveland. Got fingerprints taken, not a word since.
I noticed that case lin*000480xxx ( filed 08/13/02 ) was removed from the system some time in October. Of course, who knows where that case is

Oh, I don't - I did mention that
Still, it is a better rumour than sex based preferances at Cleveland

I am hoping Lisa would read this thread and let us know if her case number has disappeared from the status line.

Not only Cleveland is doing that. All its suboffice and sattlelite office too doing that. Local office can move an applicant to a priority status and process it.
So, they pull out the female applicants and processing it. Because they do not have to go through all the security checks. I read in an article officers are paid cash bonus on number of applicants they process. So, may be this is quick money for them.
You see there is a new BCIS chief, there is a special chief for citizenship office.....but at the localoffices N400 applications are treated differently for male and female applications. Don't you think processing based on gender should be stopped and BCIS chiefs must be informed?
The 08/2002 case must be a female applicant....so an officer must have put a date on it for interview that is why its status is missing.

Re: Steve/Lisa-SundarV any news?
FYI,
I had applied from Columbus, and here is my time line.
Applied on 23rd July, 2002
FingerPrint on 5th Nov, 2002.
Still waiting for interview.
Last I heard (when I called the 800 # in July 2003) was I should call
back after 23rd October to get more information.
If anyone of you have info on timeline for interview and oath, also
location of oath, I would realy appriciate it.
Thanks
