Received LND# but don't want to book medical till mid July
Hello,
My wife and I are looking to move to the states in the first 2 weeks of January 2018.My wife will be on a IR1 visa and we just received the LND# from London today (YAY).
Now my question is when do we have to submit the DS-260 online and how long do we have until we have to book the medical and Interview? We don’t want to book the medical/ interview till at least mid July so that we can go beginning of January 2018. Would booking the medical 5-6 weeks from now be an unrealistic request?
I hope this makes sense.
Many thanks in advance.

Phone Knightsbridge and ask them if mid July is open to be booked yet.

You have upto 12 months between each step of the process, so delaying isn't a problem. However if your wife has her medical in mid July she must immigrate by mid January, which IMO is cutting it a bit fine. I would recommend pushing the medical back to September or October, leaving a much bigger window in early 2018 during which she can arrive in the US.

When you say you have up to 12 months between each step I take it you need to inform the Embassy. Would a simple e-mail suffice?
Thank You

You don't need to inform the embassy.

I totally agree with this - what if another Icelandic volcano erupts and shuts down air traffic in Western Europe? Back to square one with an expired visa.

How do we receive our LND number? Is it via post or email?
