Hey all I am currently in the process of moving to the states, my fiancé is about to send the first I-129F form, I've sent her my passport photo a few weeks ago via. Mail but she has just told me it's a different size to hers as mine is a British passport photo done in a photo booth. Is this going to matter?

99% certain I sent a U.K. style photo.

You're overthinking it, a photo is a photo of you. I'm not certain they'll care all that much especially if you're only just now filing the I-129F.

Also don't waste your time reading horror stories about other people's visa stories/issues online.

I'd imagine the majority are exaggerated as people always seem to be bitter towards the USCIS and immigration is way less painful than people would have you think.

Me too. My (now) wife and I put the petition together whilst she was in England.

By the way majority of photo booths give the option of US sizing.

I sent UK-size passport photos with mine and my husband's I-130 form (I was none the wiser about US-size passport photos at the time). We were approved with no RFEs. You'll be fine.

This is what the US Consular Service requires. You're not dealing with them at this point in time. Indeed, they don't yet know you exist.


At this point in time, you're not getting a visa. USCIS wants the photo... not the US Consular Service in London.

I suggest you read only such information as applies to you.
