Default Only have tax returns for 2 years for interview

Preparing my paperwork for interview which is 21st February

Me(US citizen) have returns for 2011 and 2012
On the AOS form it has last 3 years of taxes to be provided

I was on maternity leave in 2010 so the amount was not enough to document
How important is it to have 3 years ?
i haven't done 2013 taxes yet as I'm waiting to do them in the US and from what I've read on the other forums you get a 2 month extension if you live abroad to do them .

I've got pay stubs that I can provide

Is 2 years sufficient and just explain to con off about 2010 tax return ?

Any thoughts ?????

Thanks

Provide a letter stating that your income fell below the filing requirements for tax year 2010 and so you did not file.

It's very important - however, if you didn't earn enough to meet the IRS threshold for filing taxes, then all you need is a note to that effect as Speedwell suggests.

The filing deadline for 2013 is April 15... so you wouldn't need an extension either way. You are not required to show 2013 taxes if your interview is prior to April 15.

BTW, the I-864 requires production of the tax return from the latest tax year. It does NOT require production of all three years. That said, one has to provide the information for the last three years.

General comment: read the instructions.

Filing deadline for those living outside the US is June 15th, automatic 2 month extension.

BTW, quite some years ago I had a marriage adjustment case, where to two students had been university classmates and married immediately after graduation. The AmCit obtained a well paying job upon graduation.

She had filed NO tax returns since she had no income while in college.

It was no problem at all.
