Rene was correct - considering that she was talking about the guy pursing a CR-1 visa and not adjusting status from within the US... which is what you're talking about. Different process, different requirements.

The OP was talking about doing an Immigrant Visa route in that post. He said something about sending off the I-130 and I-864. I explained that for an Immigrant Visa process, the I-864 does not go with the I-130, it comes later when NVC requests it.

After that post, the subject turned to AOS, where the I-130 and I-864 are sent in the same package as the I-485 and other applications/forms/documents.
