Default My 1-751 - Timeline and Details

Hi All,

I'm just getting ready to file my I-751, thought I'd share my timeline and some information in case it's helpful to anyone else, and also in case anyone spots something that's missing! For context here is my immigration timeline so far

June 2015 - My then fiancee (USC) filed I-129F
October 2015 - Interviewed in London, K1 approved and received
December 2015 - Moved to the US and married in courthouse
January 2016 - Filed AOS
April 2016 - AOS approved without interview, received physical Greencard
August 2016 - Moved oversees to accompany my wife on her military ordrers

As we're stationed oversees, the process is slightly different, here is what I am filing, any feedback welcome, I plan on sending this all of this week.
  • Cover Letter
  • Form I-751
  • Check for $680
  • Two completed FD-258 Fingerprint Cards (Oversees filing requirement, got these from the military police)
  • 2 Passport Style Photos (Again an oversees requirement)
  • Evidence - Selection of joint bank statements throughout our marriage
  • Evidence - Military Orders with both our names, DOD ID Card, and Military Housing Document
  • Evidence - Tax Returns (2016 & 2017, Federal and State)
  • Evidence - Selection of documents showing shared travel itineraries
  • Evidence - Selection of photos throughout our marriage
  • Copy of Green Card (Front and Back)
  • Supporting Letter from my wife's CO

Thanks! I'll keep this thread updated as my petition progresses.

Scott, did you print the wrong years?

April 2015 + 2 years is April 2017 We are now in 2018.

Good spot! I've corrected now, thanks!

Out of idle curiosity, has OP filed for naturalization? It seems he has been eligible since August 2016.

Am I? As I understand it you can only file for naturalization oversees if you've already been an LPR for three years, otherwise I have to apply from the US. We move back to the US this summer, and plan on filing for naturalization 90 days before my 3 year LPR anniversary.

I was thinking of expedited processing in the United States. That would necessitate trips back to the US. The five years doesn't apply.

Yes, that was an option to me, but didn't really want to have to make the trips back.

Mailed it in yesterday via priority mail, so hopefully should arrive next week sometime. Am hoping (if not expecting) that it's all completed before we move in August.

Package arrived at Vermont Service Center yesterday, keeping a close eye to see when the check is cashed.

Isn't the Vermont Service Center significantly faster than the California one? Hopefully that'll get your I-751 adjudicated quicker!

Certainly hope so! According to USCIS, California are currently processing from September 2016, while Vermont are on December 2016!

Received a I-797 Notice of Action this week to let me know they've received my petition and have extended my conditional resident status for a period of one year.

Out of interest, has anyone else received this message before?

At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information.

I plan on calling them for more information, but curious if it's a familiar one or not?

where did you find this message? If online, was there a reason why you were checking something? Sounds like either the information on your case has not been updated online yet, or their program is down.
