Hi, I am new to this group. I've done some research of my own to try
to find out just what the hell is the INS doing to those K VISA that
makes them so damn long. As of Jan 30, MSC (missoruri) is reporting
that they are processing up to Oct 9(recieving date) 129F VISA. But
many of the people online said that timeline is not very accurated. So
I did a little manuel search of the INS database myself, I found out
that as of today Feb 13, the MSC is actually processing the Oct 16
Cases. I begin tracking some 60+ cases that was submitted at oct
16,2002 from the beginning of Febuary and from my observation, it took
them 4 days ( feb 10 to feb 14) to process MOST of the 60+ cases that
I was tracking, it is a very slow process. I also found out that some
cases that were faster than the rest of the other. How do I know that?
Well, I have some cases that were submited at oct 16 and got approved
at nov 6. I am wondering perhaps the Processing center is processing
VISA not only by the date that VISA was submitted, but also by some
other order, perhaps the orgin of the applicant, maybe? maybe people
from Canada is faster than people said from China or Mexico? I am just
guessing here. If anyone know more about how the processing center
works, please reply, thanks... and may all of us waiting for that
K-VISA got their approval in lighting speed. :-) (now that's
impossible!)

Default Expedited Processing

Well, that explains the 59 day processing time, guess it wasn't a typo after all (how nice of the INS to work "quickly" in 59 days, 1 day under their minimum in the 1st NOA!).

Anyway, that marriagebasedvisas.org page is pretty useful, I've been using it for over a month now.

Anybody have any other similar pages?

Hi Kevin,
I wish I could tell you exactly what MSC are up to when it comes to processing K3 approval. My husband is from Canada and still waiting for the 2nd NOA.
I didn't see your timeline. When did you got your 1st NOA? How long have you been waiting? Would you like me to add you to the list?

Re:
Hello,
For the K-3 process there are 2 notice of actions.
I had my first december 30th and now I have my second notice of action. I
wrote to the website and asked them why there is not a place for second
notice of action and they did not respond. They must have filled in the
detail such as approved date and not second notice of action.
From my first notice of action to my second notice of action was a little
over 30 days.
My case is being expedited due to severe changes in my life. Allthough it
will take an act of god to bring my husband here in time I only pray.
I wish you all luck and the patience we all have to endure in this process.
It is the best and only way.

What ever the circumstances that sped this visa process up, I say goodluck to them. If any of us were in this position Im sure we arent going to say "Hey there are others ahead of us so we will wait" Who knows what the severe changes that have taken place but it must be something serious for things to be happening so fast. My thoughts go out to them & I am happy that they may soon be reunited. I wish Tania & her husband nothing but the best of wishes.
Cheers

I heard that MSC not only sorts application by date recived, but then goe son to sort them by what COUNTRY the marriage took place in ie where the marriage cert is from. does this make any sense...
maybe people who had gotten married in North America get approved faster?

That seems to make sense. We got married in the Mediterranean, Middle East - Cyprus. It took the full 90 days to get approved and then, after that, they sent to Washington for a security clearance. You would think they would've performed the clearance BEFORE THE APPROVAL. This whole process pisses me off!

Interesting that you should say that since it was the tone of my response on another board grousing 4 129Fs approved out of sequence at the infamous TSC. We don't know the circumstances of other's cases and status unless they choose to share them... Our first entirely human response may be HEY what about me? But then you never know until you walk in another's shoes. I certainly wouldn't begrudge someone who had truly severe and genuine health, (mental or physical) or monetary problems getting approved ahead of me.

Cindy I agree totally with what you say but I hardly think that financial circumstances come into it. Ive been out of work for the entire 8 months of our seperation & have had to rely on the generosity of my children to keep a roof over my head all this time & Im sure the INS wouldnt give a damn about my poor circumstances right now. I really think it must be more serious than just having no place to live & financial strain!! I judge not & am glad that I do not have to walk in anyones shoes but my own

Hi everyone. I got good news and bad news. First I know that MSC is
looking at our case with a 1st NOA dated 11-1-2002 (paper notice is
10-31-2002) The bad news is today they issued a letter requesting
further evidence. I used a lawyer to do all my paperwork so its
frustrating this happened. Hopefully we can resolve it fairly quickly
and get an approval. I have updated the list below. At least they are
looking at cases dated 10-31-02/11-1-02. Will keep you posted.

I think I should point something out... everyone keeps referring to the I-129F approval as K-3 approval... that is not true.

Just because you get the letter saying your I-129 was approved does not mean that your visa was approved... it only means that now you are on to the next step which is sending all your papers to the consulate to see if they will give you a visa. So K-3 approval is when you have the sticker in your passport NOT the letter saying you've been approved.

Just thought I'd clear that up in case others were confused!

Susie

Good Luck to all those waiting
