Re: July/August I-130 DCF filers come here!
I've seen all these links. And I got confused, because this is what I thought- that the $404 would be for the second stage, when you apply for the actual visa. Just to confirm that, I called the USCIS helpcentre in London last week (the number that charges £1.20/minute - but at least they picked up immediately ), I told them I was double-checking about the I-130 fee because I saw that fees went up, and they told me it's $404(!!!). But what you say makes much more sense and that's what I originally thought. So I guess I'll go with the original $355 then if that's what everyone's still paying. It's not the first time I've read about USCIS giving misleading info, so I'm not going to contest that!
First off I can now confirm that my I-130 is indeed being processed
My wife wasn't checking her junk email folder and the confirmation of receipt has been sitting there since the 23rd
I can also confirm that I paid $355 for the I-130 filing fee, so the visa "mis-information" line must have given you the wrong information

I read somewhere that it was $404 too. Damn, I sent in the payment form telling them to take 404 from my account. I guess I'll be receieving the pack back!
Do you think they'll reject the application and send it back to me?

We just sent off our I-130 yesterday Special Delivery Next Day, and the embassy signed for it this morning at 8am! So just waiting around obsessing now!
As I was reading through these post and saw that some people were saying the fee was $404...I started to freak out thinking the pack would be returned to us. But PHEW like previous posters have said, it is only $355 for the petition. Thank goodness, I was about to have a heart attack. )

At least you know that you've been accepted for processing now!

Oh, are they??
Sorry, I don't mean to misinform people. This is the number I called:
http://london.usembassy.gov/dhs/uscis/
(middle of the page).
I thought they were USCIS because the page is about the USCIS London Field Office. In any case, sounds like they gave me wrong info. I mentioned both "I-130 fee" and "initial petition" - I don't know how much clearer I could have made it. And they still gave me the wrong amount (they said $404). Maybe because I told them I was double-checking because I saw fees went up, so I might have confused them?
Thanks to everyone in here though, I'll make sure we fill out the form for $355 when we submit next week .

To be honest if they send it back its not the end of the world seeing as we have no intentions to go to USA until Feb/March anyway.

Yeah Im too late now. I hope they either just contact me and let me send in another payment form or just process the it without taking the entire fee(unlikely).

I wonder if they may just cash out $355 and not send the whole application back. Because it sounds like everything else with your application is fine and correct, and it's not incomplete. On the contrary- you authorized them to take out a higher payment to what was required! Or issue you a refund or something. It'll be interesting to see and apologies if I added to your confusion - but I was equally confused myself after that call I made. The good news is that they tend to return applications really quickly if there's something wrong, so it may only cost you a week's or two delay if they do return it. Fingers crossed they don't!

If they're sending it back it would be nice if it was before the end of August.

Hi all,
Has anyone else of the recent filers received any kind of response?
As I said, we mailed our package on Monday this week and we got the delivery confirmation on Tuesday. So still too early for us, but I was wondering about current timelines.
I'm hoping to hear sometime next week (hopefully with a NOA1, and not a return ) but the week after may be more realistic.
Sounds like it takes NOA1s between 10 days and 2 weeks to be sent for most cases, so hopefully not too long now.
I'm also checking our bank account twice a day to track the payment, but of course nothing so far...
