Hi all I will be filing for a I-130 visa, I would like to know, how long after I get
married can I start work? Any other pointers regarding this Visa would be
appreciated. Thanks

Assuming you are here in the US and filing after your marriage you will not only file the
I-130 but an I-485 as well. In order to work you will have to file for permission to
accept employment. For that you will file the I-765. Depending on the local INS office you
will be using, the wait can be instant to 90 days. Check out Alvena Hyde's website for the
filing procedures on the I-130/I-485. The URL is after my name .. Rita
