I-130 Approval
It took a long time, since June 18th last year, but finally....
Our I-130 was approved this morning!
*Does dance*
I know we're only half way there, but thats 50% further than we were yesterday!

Re: I-130 Approval
Hi all,
Our I-130 was accepted/approved on 15 Jan 13 and has been showing as under review on USCIS My Case Status web page. Is this a normal time frame or should something have happened by now. we have not heard anything since our I-797 notice and our MSCxxxxxxxxxxxxx
All info appreciated

Re: I-130 Approval
Since I-130 approval will take a minimum of 3-5 months its perfectly normal. You will be contacted upon approval or if they need something from you.

Re: I-130 Approval
Which one was it? Was it accepted (received) by USCIS, or was it approved?
I-797 only means Notice of Action. Notice of Action can be several different things, including Notice of Receipt and Notice of Approval. Since you only mention one I-797, I assume it's just the Notice of Receipt (which means your I-130 is not yet approved, as you mention above).
The I-130 can take up to 5 months or so to get approved, so you might not hear anything else from USCIS until June 2013. When the I-130 gets approved, you will receive another I-797, this time it will be the Notice of Approval.

Thanks for the replies - It was the Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) and said quote "Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing" Unquote

Re: I-130 Approval
This is whats called the NOA1. Its the Receipt of your petition, its not an approval. When you petition is approved you will recieve s NOA2.

Re: I-130 Approval
I'm now wondering if I'm missing something. My I-130 petition for my husband only took 3 weeks. And then we got the notice that the IVB at the Embassy received the approved petition only 4 weeks later. Am I missing a step?
