Hi,
When I call the CSC's automated line (949)-831 8427 about my I-129 application I always
get the same message... "Your application for an I-129 non-immigrant work permit was
received on December 22nd 2000, it usually takes us 30-60 days to process this kind of
application..."
Do they mean 30-60 actual days (including weekends) or working days?? If so I have another
month to wait
Also, does the message ever change - i.e. do you get a message saying that a decision has
been mailed???
Thanks!

It means 30-60 INS days. INS days are as long as INS wants them to be <grin>. Seriously,
they are supposed to be calendar days, but they count only from the date the application
is entered into the INS computer (usually a few days after it is received, with Christmas
in between, it may even be a day in January), and it only counts until an INS officer gets
the file on his desk. Files typically sit on the desk for another 30 days.
The message indeed changes whenever something major is done on your file: it is approved,
it is denied, or they send a request for more evidence.
