History of anorexia nervosa
Hi all
I wonder if anyone out there has been through what I am currently experiencing and can give any comfort? I am 53 and in my teens suffered from anorexia with associated self harm - for which I was hospitalized. I had my medical at Knightsbridge on Monday just past, and despite already having one letter from my GP that stated I presented no harm to myself or others, the physician wanted more detail. Hospital records from that long ago do not exist anymore, and I said this to the doctor - but she said she still needs a letter, even if it just says that the records are no longer available. The reception gave me a list of detail that is needed in the letter to give to my GP - but, of course, she has only been my GP for ten years - and really can only reassure again that I am totally recovered in every way and pose no threat. My interview is still going ahead on this coming Monday but they say they will tie up the letter with the medical when it comes and send to the Embassy. I wonder if this means once i have that letter all will be resolved?? It was not clear - and also, has anyone else been through similar with such an old historical mental health issue?

They stated that they would clear you if they receive a letter they find acceptable. At that point the approved medical will go to the embassy. If the embassy find you admissible when they interview you then the only thing they would be waiting on is the medical to issue the visa.
