Default GC holder marrying F-1 visa holder...

Hello,

I would like to know what all entails when a US Green Card holder marries a
F-1 ( Foreign Student ) visa holder. In other words, if both get married in
the U.S. while F-1 is studying, does this F-1 visa holder need to ever
return back to their home country to apply for change of status or can this
be done while F-1 visa holder stays in the U.S.?

Any help and/or point in the right direction would be appreciated!

Greencard holder can petition for a spouse, so there's not much you can do till your married, but your hardly a priority and it could take years, will be speeded up once you become a USC though.

True....and once his F-1 is up, he will need a way to stay in the USA legally if he wants to remain here while waiting for his status to change...as Bob said, will be years (until the PR becomes a USC and speeds things up).
