Employment Authorization - HELP!

Employment Authorization - HELP!
I am in the US on a L2 visa (my husband is British but now works in New Jersey) and I have applied for EA. My problem is that I did it on April 1st and there's still NO outcome. They requested more info which I provided but I just can't get any progress from them.
I read that after 90 days it is possible to get a temporary work visa if they still haven't made a decision but I was told I was not eligible. I have been messed around so much by them though I don't trust a word they say. Has ANYONE had any similar experience or has any advice they can share??? It's making me crazy...

If USCIS does not approve or deny your Employment Authorization Document application within 90 days (within 30 days for an asylum applicant; note: asylum applicants are eligible to file for EADs only after waiting 150 days from the date they filed their properly completed original asylum applications), you may request an interim Employment Authorization Document. You must go to your local USCIS office and bring with you proof of your identity and any documents that USCIS has sent you about your employment authorization application.

When did you have your biometrics for the EAD done? My understanding is that the 90-day "clock" stops until you have your biometrics done, then resumes again. So basically, the time before having your biometrics done doesn't count towards the 90 days. But, if it has been more than 90 days since your NOA date, you can still make an Infopass appointment to go inquire in person...that's what I would do.

My last EAD took them only 45 days to approve.

Re: Employment Authorization - HELP!
I did make an appointment with infopass and they made me wait four hours and then told me they couldn't do anything as L2 visa authorization isn't done in Newark. P***ed me off no end. Should I try again?

Sympathy flowing!
I am going crazy getting this sorted out! No-one seems to know what is going on and I get mixed messages from anyone I talk to. Have you tried the the Customer Service Line - approx thirty minute wait and then...no information - Great!!!
What can we do???

My online password and user name doesn't work for some reason (even though I am using the very ones they sent me as confirmation). It is mess up after mess up with them.
You have made me more angry and I'm going to get much more persistent now...

Also, if it's been a while since you logged onto the case status service on line, you need to change your password every so often. I went through several password changes while waiting...but it prompted me to change it each time it was required.

Re: Employment Authorization - HELP!
They failed to send me the letter for the biometrics appointment so have done that about two weeks ago. Does this mean that it is 90 days from that? Any help would be gratefully received. Agggghhhhh if it is....

Note one thing. Noorah and I know about interim EAD's for those adjusting status based on marriage to a USC. I'm wondering since Newark told you they don't deal L2's that it is very possible that L2's are not eligible for the interim EAD. Anyway, have you checked with the attorney that got your husband the L1? Also it is 90 days from the date of the biometrics, not the date of filing.

My advice is when you reach 90 days from the date they said they received your further info, go and ask for a interim EAD then - you will be entitiled to it at that point.
You have my sympathy, it's so frustrating! Hang in there, my EAD actually came through about 30 days after my visit to USCIS where they told me it would likely be 90 days again, so hopefully it will come through soon.
I know it's hard to appreciate at the time but I've been working for 6 months now and would love to have all that time off again!
Feel free to PM me if you want to know any more details!
