DS-156 questions.PLS help!
hello forum visitors.
I have to fill 2 copies of DS-156 for K-3 visa.
There are some questions that i find irrelevant.
For example what is the purpose of your trip?
Hell, its joining my husband. So what should i write there?
Another question-do you intend to work/study in US? it confused me.
Now in addition to those DS-156 questions i have another thing to ask.
Do i have to provide the evidence of my funds?Affidavit of my husband is not enough?
Thanks for help!

Aw,
The purpose of your trip is very relevant. You stated the purpose in your post, why not write the same purpose on the DS-156?

The DS-156 is a GENERIC form for ALL non-immigrant visas. That should help you in filling out the forms.
#5 is quite irrlevant -- leave out the "hell" and you've stated the answer.
work or study -- tell the truth -- it doesn't matter in your case.

Folinskyinla,
Did you really mean that question #5 on the DS-156 is irrelevant?
If so, is it irrelevant because the particular type of non-immigrant visa that she's applying for should make the answer obvious?
What if someone who "thinks too much" - who is second-guessing the question - puts down an answer that is not equite consistent with a K visa? Might that suddenly make the question more relevant?
Really curious about this, as I understand your point that some questions will sometimes be irrelevant due to the generic nature of the DS-156, but it seems to me that this question goes directly to the issue of which of the many types of non-immigrant visa is appropriate for the applicant.

Re: DS-156 questions.PLS help!
You have the anwers already!
........To join your husband.
....... Intent to study? I indicated NO. Just to avoid any follow up question. Ones you are here, nothing prevents you from studying if you wish. Just indicate NO, my country Con-offs are tricky !!!!
They may suspect your motive and refer you to the appropriate student visa for study to frustrate you. If its Nigeria you are applying from then take my advise.
Its pertinent to inform you and others that if you have in the past,no matter how long ago, applied for visiting visa and was denied. Please say yes and the year or else if they find out in the computer and you lied. That is end of story for you.
Good luck from JJ

The two possible answers are "yes" and "no".
A K visa applicant would not have a problem with either.
