Hi all,
New to the Forum, but wanted to add that our I-130 was approved on June 1st, after a filing of Feb 3rd. We found out after emailing uscis.london on Monday, but have not received a case number yet.
We are all ready, I hope(!), for Medical and Interview, and will be filing an I-864W along with the other docs since I have >40 quarters of US Social Security payments on file - I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so imagine it is uncommon(?)
Anyway, good luck all and hopefully things start to move a little faster now!

Still, as Rene says, it's perfectly acceptable.

Just got back from my medical at Knightsbridge.
I arrived at 9.50am, was asked by a nice receptionist to hand over my documents (passport, passport photo, police cert, vaccination records & medical questionnaire) and give another questionnaire to fill out. Went to the waiting room, filled it out and returned it to reception. I went back to the waiting room (there was about 5 other people there) and within a few minutes was asked to go through for my X-ray.
Was told to take off my top, bra and necklace. Was given a gown to wear & then I had a nice chat with the bloke doing the X-ray while he sorted everything out. Within 5 minutes I was done and as I was leaving that room the nurse had just finished with a lady there so took me straight into her office. We chatted for a bit about my vaccination records, I agreed to get my MMR and Tetanus shots done there and then. She gave me standard spiel about side-effects, done both jabs (didn't hurt at all) and then she led me to a different waiting room for women only as I was still topless in the gown!
After a 10 minute wait I was called by a lovely, soft-spoken doctor and she brought me into her office. She asked a few medical questions (do I need glasses, have I ever suffered from depression etc) before getting on with the exam. She weighed me, took my height and asked me to lay down on her examination chair. She checked my ears and throat, took my blood pressure, listened to my heart and lungs, done some weird tapping on my stomach, whacked me on the knees with an object that looked a lot like a hammer and then took a blood test, which was also pretty painless. I had a quick eye exam, which was literally "Cover this eye, read that line. Now cover the opposite eye and do the same." She told me to get dressed and return to the waiting room. As I was leaving she wished me the best of luck with everything and told me she hoped my little boy and I would be in America as soon as possible.
Waited back in the first waiting room for a further few minutes before the lovely receptionist from earlier called me back to the desk. She handed me a form showing my new vaccination history and told me to keep it safe, but that it wasn't needed for the visa interview & a copy will be sent to them directly. I paid for the medical & X-ray (£210) and the vaccinations (£63 in total) and she gave me a receipt, wished me luck and that was it.
All in all I was there for exactly an hour. Everyone was very very nice to me, had some nice chats with all three of the medical personnel I was with and I'm glad it's all over and done with!
For reference, the building is a 10min walk from Bond Street station, definitely bring a map if you're inclined to get lost easily, it's a very busy area of London!

I've just had a look at the national rail website and I cant see any delays in your area (granted I dont know that area of the country that well). What time are you getting into Paddington?

Well folks here is my timeline thus so far.
March 2nd, 2011: DCF I-130 paperwork posted first class.
March 3rd, 2011: Petition received and FILED.
March 3rd, 2011: Petition Fee taken from credit card.
March 17th, 2011: phoned IRS Philadelphia to request copies of tax transcripts for 2007, 2008, 2009. (2007 was for my records only)
March 26th, 2011: Received transcripts sent by TNT Post (USA) and delivered via Royal Mail.
May 25th, 2011: Requested copy of 2011 Tax transcript via IRS Online. (awaiting documents)
May 25th, 2011: Posted completed ACRO form for Police Certificate.
May 26th, 2011: Received email stating acknowledgment of request.
June 6th, 2011: Received email stating they are processing request.
June 9th, 2011: Received Police Certificates via Royal Mail 1st Post.
Now waiting for my I-130 approval.
Our intended move to Florida is at the earliest date of Feb-latest April 2012. We've started the process knowing it would take time to get the initial petition approved, and had every intention to delay the remaining forms possibly for a few months. Assuming we get approval at end of June, early July, hubby hoping to schedule his medical for 3rd of September if allowed to, and hoping for interview for October. (Our delay is all due to our employment and holiday schedules, and wanting to save a bit more dosh up for the gravy train). Assuming that in October the interview goes well and he is granted the immigrant visa, then we will meet our target dates to move within the 6 months span (October-April).
Just a little tidbit for anyone needing to get the Tetanus shot, my nurse at the local GP did mine (USC/UKC and my hubby (UKC) and it cost us nothing, and the new thing out now is that jab is a 3 in 1 jab. Its now Tetanus/Poliomyelitis/Diptheria. (Used to be Pertussis instead of Poliomyelitis) Afterwards I had asked if I could have my lil sugar cube and she just giggled. Anyway, I recommend that the USC still get it before you move back to the States just for peace of mind really. besides what better way to remember by getting it done at the same time as your move back home. Got mine done on my Grandmas birthday, so I'll remember that for the next 10 years.
