Default A Congratulatory message TO DaGeek

Hi,

I saw that you were approved sometime back. I was on vacation then so I missed the posting.

I have been approved and waiting for NVC to send my file to the consulate in Lagos.

Has your wife had her interview yet?

Keep me posted on the forum.

Cathese:

Welcome back! My wife's interview takes place at the end of the month. I'll be in Lagos the weekend of Oct 24 and we'll be going to the consulate together. Will let y'all know how things go.

From the looks of things, you haven't allowed yourself to be suckered into providing your banking info - wise move, I say :-)
You know what they say, "If it sounds to good to be true . . . . . "

Thanks, Cathese.

Has your approved petition reached the NVC yet? If not, call them to find out. Once they send it on to Lagos, ask them what the case number is (it's usually LGS XXXX XXX XXX). Then you can start sending email to the consulate using that case number so they can confirm receipt (should take no more than 1-2 weeks). In my experience, they respond to email enquiries within 3-4 days. As you probably already know, once they confirm receipt of the approved petition, don't wait to receive the integrated pkt 3/pkt 4. Go to the consulate with the second NOA, sufficient identification and (if applicable), printouts of the email telling you the petition has been received. You'll receive the forms and have an interview date scheduled right away. I should tell you that they seem to fix the interview close to the expiration of the approval validity period. Nothing malicious about that . . . it's just a reflection of the sheer volume of visas they process.

Best of luck in what remains of the process.

Wise move for you to accompany your wife at her interview as it will reassure her and calm her nerves but more importantly, the Emb officials won't give her the usual crap that they give other genuine petitioner/beneficiaries going through the same process.

Yes, I have a vested interest in your experience also, as my honeybunny went through the same ruthless V.I. consulate. (We'll be filing together for removal of conditions in the not-to-distant future.)

All the best.
