June 20, 2003 --------Fingerprinted
Now waiting for the interview
when checked his petition status, his staus was changed from 240-360
days to 30-60 days. i pray this be true, but doubt is this some kind
of computer error. anyone came across this sudden jump????????????

Sadly, it is an error check again, the processing time has probably reverted back to what it was. Mine went from 120-180 days to 30-90 days then back again, it has happened to a lot of people this week.

For me, it never said anything other than the receipt number cannot be found or that there is no information at this time. It said the same thing AFTER I was naturalized. In summation: THE CASE STATUS CHECK IS USELESS SHIT.
Yeah, check the case status often, but don't worry about it not working right. It just goes to show how incompetent the folks at the BCIS are. You can rely somewhat on what you are told repeatedly over the phone. For instance, they might tell you "Sir, all you can do is wait. You are within the time guideline of 2 years for processing this type of case." But then you may get ahold of the service center and find out your file wasn't sent out 'cause they didn't know it was supposed to go out due to miscommunication between the service center and the district office. You just need to get one good rep who actually looks at the details and makes a conclusion to get a breakthrough. I found the phone to be the only weapon. Writing to the BCIS doesn't work, except maybe your interviewing officer. They don't respond.
Good luck to you all.
