AOS Minnesota - got the interview letter!
Just an update on my AOS Bloomington office - hope this helps!
Entered US on B2: 07/16/2002
Got married to a USC: 10/03/2002
I-485 filed: 10/15/2002, receipt said case scheduled for March 2003
AP filed: 05/15/2003, received in the mail: 05/23/2003
Interview letter received: 06/24/2003
Interview set for: 07/22/2003. Wish me luck!
So the actual processing time for my case is going to be 9 months, 4
months longer then they originally promised. Still not bad if you
compare to other district offices...
Hang in there everyone! It's nothing but a big patience test.

Re: AOS Minnesota - got the interview letter!
Thats great! Let me know how it goes, I filed my AOS through Bloomington in
April 2003. I have my EAD appointment tomorrow in Portal, ND. We are hoping
(like happened with our next door neighbours) that he will do our AOS
interview at the same time, so we don't have to drive 7 hrs to Minneapolis.
Good Luck with your interview!!

Re: AOS Minnesota - got the interview letter!
Good luck to all of you. I am waiting on my n400 interview here in MN.
Do any of you know anyone who has gone through N400 in MN recently and what their timeline was like? THanks and good luck with those interviews.

Re: AOS Minnesota - got the interview letter!
Congratulations! We had our AOS interview in July 2001 (14 months after
getting married) and it went extremely well.
All we were asked to bring 2000 W2's and adit photo's, (we actually took
all kinds of things with us like marriage certificate, proof of
relationship. We were sworn in, asked some questions like what is our
current address, any children, any previous marriages. I gave a thumb
print, signed my card, and away we went.
In the building and out in less than ½ hour. We spent more time waiting
(even though we had an 8.30am appointment), than being interviewed.

A quick question for you. Where did you get the information on what all needed to be filed with the Bloomington office? Were you able to file everything through Bloomington?
Any information with regards to how things work in that office would be of great help.
Thanks,
Rohit

Re: AOS Minnesota - got the interview letter! [update: interview success!]
Hey everyone!
And so it went! Thanks for the warm words, your support and keeping
your fingers crossed for me. Sorry for the little delay but my wife
and I were celebrating my CPR status yesterday!
Here is what happened: my experience was EXTREMELY pleasant. We got
there, put the interview letter in the designated box by the door and
waited in the poorly air-conditioned room for about 5 min before the
officer [a middle-aged woman] called us. The whole interview took
about 7 min, she was really down-to-earth and seemed like she had had
her mind already made up the moment we walked in her office. She took
our oaths, went through the form I got with the letter that I filled
out [address, names, crime history etc.] then took my fingerprints and
asked me to put my signature on the GC form. Only then she asked if
either of us would like to tell her briefly how we met and where and
how we got married. So my wife did that in a few words, and the
officer was taking notes as to the timeframes. Then she said that
everything seemed to be in order, the security clearances went through
and that she would give me the CPR stamp valid for one year and that
the physical GC should arrive in the mail sometime during that year.
We are moving out of state soon so then I asked her what is going to
happen with my GC. She suggested we give her my wife's parents address
for BCIS to send the card to. She did not recommend notifying the BCIS
of the move until I get the physical GC so she was obviously aware of
the mess they are in with the address changes
Also, I hear that usually you get a letter describing items you need
to bring, especially proof of legitimacy of the marriage. We
apparently presented enough evidence at filing (copies of pictures,
lease, bank statement, bills) because we got no such notice. I was
only supposed to bring my passport, I-94, AP and EAD. Maybe that is
why it went without any problems [could be a hint for future AOS
filers]
All in all, it was absolutely painless. If you are legitimate, there
is nothing to worry. I don't know about other district offices, but MN
is definitely NOT out to get you. Good luck to the rest of you waiting
for interviews! I hope yours goes as smoothly as mine did!
Marek
P.S. Rohit: I was able to file everything through Bloomington, and
spent some considerable time Internet-searching to make sure I know
what to file. One tricky thing was the physical, which I learned
relatively late that in MN you have to submit with your AOS. I
recommend this forum as a great resource!
P.S. #2. I will post this on Kamya.com. Anywhere else?
