AOS Interview

Well I've been called in for an interview next month.

Now I have a job with my EAD, does my wife include me in her I-864?

If she's the USC spouse, she must.

Sorry, I don't think what I originally wrote was clear. My bad entirely.

Does she include my income in her I-864?

Re: AOS Interview

If she qualifies using just her own finances, no need to include your income.

Thank you. I wish I had an interview waiver so we didn't need to use PTO, but at the same time I'm glad I now have a date rather than just waiting.

True - but if she does need to include his income, she can! :)

Thanks Rene and Ian.

I'm looking forward to being able to count the days down for when I can apply for citizenship when I finally get my permanent residency. The fact that I have been here for nearly a year and not able to use this time towards that has been quite frustrating. :)

I completely understand and was in the same situation. Moved to the US on a K-1 in 1998, didn't get my green card until 2001... and none of that time counted towards my qualifying time for naturalization.

Best of luck, sure it'll be absolutely fine!

Hopefully not too far behind you either.

Unless you are in Kentucky, the AOS interview is a cakewalk much like the interview at the US Embassy.

You hand in your supporting documents, they ask a few questions, you answer and if you are lucky they will tell you if you are approved or not. If the interviewer is new they might have to check with a supervisor but that is not a usual occurrence.

Had interview. Went well, but they lost my medical. They need to try find it. So not approved just yet.
