Default The "administrative processing" Black hole

Hi Guys!

So to cut a long story short - I applied for an Immigrant Visa via my husband, intially refused, but reccomended for a waiver.

Once waiver was approved we were asked to book a new medical ( which we did) and send in my passport and new acpo (which has been done).

Due to an additional letter needed from my GP, my medical results were sent in a bit later than they normally would have ( a week later).

Last week, i got a phone call from the Immigrant Visa Unit in London, telling me all i had to do was wait for a phone call from them, after which they would give me a date to come to the embassy swear a new oath ( apparently my old one had expired). They also asked me to update my D260, which i promptly did.

My research tells me after this point, it should take 7-10 working days to recieve my passport back ( please correct me if im wrong)

Its been a week since that phone call and i havent heard from the IVU at this point - should i be worried? Is there any chance this could drag on for months? I thought i had been basically approved, and had handed in my notice at work!

Any advice/info appreciated

Nothing to worry about, IMO. Could take weeks, probably not months.

Probably only days more, or a week or so; longer is unlikely seeing as how they have your passport.

Personally I wouldn't have resigned until I actually had my visa (in passport) in hand.

I know, I know but I have a three month notice period , hence why I gave it so early. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon!

As former BE member Ian the self-described "sanctimonious prick" -- figuring out future timelines is the "path to madness." I agree.

Good luck.
