Default Winter 2017-18

I had the heating on for a couple of hours this afternoon

The house just hadn't warmed up during the day like it usually does.

Do you have to turn your lights on when it gets dark in the evening?

If it's any consolation I lit our first fire last weekend (29 Oct) as it was rather chilly in the UK. The dogs were delighted.

This Lowreyesque scene is not Salford many years ago, it is blecking Vernon, today- 15cm of nontypical wet snow due.

Click on it twice to get it the right way up

Probably a cousin murdering another cousin for getting another cousin pregnant.

You know him then... Isn't he the only sane one in the family who married his daughter by his fourth wife to his son by his fifth and insists they all live in a tree?

Weirdly, not cousins involved but there have been human remains dug up outside of town- possible multiple previous owners

Well, after a week in tropical Vancouver, I have returned to a freezing house Britain (heating completely off) and I too have resorted to full blast heating and fireplace for a time. I think it was 6C this morning. Brrrr.

Heating has been on for a little while here, it's been snowing for two days now, don't think this lots going to disappear until next year, supposed to snow for another couple of days and our high tomorrow is forecast to be -10.

Happy Days....

You left just in time..

Forecast this week is kind of cold. 4c currently and supposed to be 1 overnight.

Possibility of some flurries this week, but doubt it will happen but we shall see.

As for heat, no heat needed yet, still staying around 20-21 inside the apartment.

Our 'new' heat pump system uses Fahrenheit. It was pre-set for 68(20) for heating and 72(22) for AC. I've not changed anything but there are times when I up the temperature a bit.

I don't use the full timer function since things vary too much to have fixed times. But I can change the temperature for however many hours and in winter I reduce it to 64(17) at bedtime and then back to 68 in time for getting up.

The last two mornings I got up to 63 and yesterday went to 70(21) by late afternoon but today it stayed at 63.

63/64 is cold in the morning but okay if you know it will get warmer soon.
