She had 2 job offers this week, I am at 0 with no interviews on the horizon, we will be okay til something comes around, just annoying more then anything else.


I did, the lady I spoke to said the resume is there, but the hiring guy doesn't take calls and if he wants to interview he will call.

Maybe it's because you left your job first?

Sometimes it suggests a certain a attitude... Most people depending on an income don't up and leave until another job is sorted out. I know why you did it, but it probably looks less than favourable on a resume.

I missed that - rather important- point. If true (I.e. Did you resign from your latest job?), it might well be impinging on your job search.

Sometimes for your own health and well being you need to leave a job. Few employers seem to be accommodating to people's mental health needs.

Service jobs are also not a good fit for me either, which contributes to being completely miserable in the job, but this last employer took the cake, I'd like to say it was just me, however the turn over there is pretty much 100% over a year, in the short time I was there, 3 of 4 other quit before I did.

I need something fulfilling but I don't seem to have the right skill set to get a job like that.

Seem's the only places interested are hotels.... lol

I am concentrating on hotels again, haven't had any luck with non-hotels and hotels are calling, so I guess the hotel world it is...


Wife is getting a lot of temp work through a local temp agency, just short temp stuff 2 days here, 1 day there..

I've have a final interview Monday morning, down to 5 people in total the first interviewer said, now the final 5 go on and have an interview with the hiring manager and mine is tomorrow.

The pay isn't any better then what I normally get, but it's a job related to one of my interests, and getting the job would be the best thing ever, I do so well in jobs when I have an interest in what the company is doing, I've spent the day reviewing the companies website and trying to learn more about the company to try and have more knowledge.

I hope I can do well enough to beat the other 4 people, I am thoroughly happy about this interview....lol




Oh and my wife is getting about 3 interviews a week on average, so she is still well ahead....lol

Was a very short informal meeting. The GM just wanted to meet with the final applicants and then will go and discuss with the dept manager and they want to make a decision by end of the week.

What would you be doing?

Mostly open and closing of the facility, with some cashiering for admission and gift shop. They provide a relaxed work environment, and I have great interest in what they do, so would be a perfect fit. Its not a for profit entity, and the benefits and pay are a bit better then other jobs, so would really be ideal.

Just have to wait and see now, they said they hope to notify everyone either way by the end of the week.

I can't say where it is, nor confirm or deny any guesses.
