Want to plan a Meetup for your city? Read me!

This is just an FYI for anyone wondering about meetups.

If you want to plan a meetup for your city, please feel free to do so!! There's no specific meetup 'organiser' as such, just whoever decides to take the initiative and get one organised.

Any meetup threads in here I or one of the mods will sticky so that they stay visible, and then it will be un-stickied once the date has passed. Hopefully this will help get good turnout and encourage more people to organise them!

There are currently two meetups scheduled:
1) 14 June, Edmonton
2) 20 June, Toronto

You can also schedule the meetup in the Meetups calendar: http://britishexpats.com/forum/calendar.php Currently it's not used very much, but it would be nice to get it back into action. :)

So if you want to organise a meetup for your city, go right ahead! If I or the other mods see it, we'll sticky it up, if not just drop a PM. :)

Happy meeting!

It might be a good idea to update your sticky, both the meet up dates you refer to are past. If people see out of date info they may think it's not worth reading the sticky. Just my thoughts.

I think if people see outdated info, they will take it as just that. I see you are new. Welcome to BE!

The threads bold when something new is posted, such as your post, which is how I saw it and came in to respond. So when something new is posted, people will know because the thread will turn bold in the index. If nothing new is posted, it is un-bolded. Schnooks also said she would un-sticky specific meetup threads that have had their dates passed, which she did.

:)

Only mods can edit posts this far afterwards anyway, us regular folk can only do it within 2 hours of the post being made. So not much I can do about it now! But thanks for pointing it out, hopefully these posts solve it. :)

Hehe. Schnooks is fine! SchnookoLoly is long. I'd change it if I could!

As would I... I'd change mine to just plain Gozit. Any mods want to do some favours? ;)
