Default Vegan the new vegetarian?

In the last couple of years there seems to be veganism everywhere? When I went through my vegetarian phase about twenty years ago, veganism was seen as bit too much, and generally frowned upon by all but its practitioners. Now, there are cafes, websites, bloggers, it really seems to be the new thing. Has anyone gone vegan or thinking about it? I know I'm not. Whenever I see pictures of vegan food it always looks so 'yellow' for some reason. Is it just a fad?

Usually its just a defined part, the bums usually good, though in the case of a nugget or burger it could be anything of course.

At least they are 'grain fed'.

I find you don't get much meat on a vegan, tend to be all gristle and hard to chew. You can't beat a jolly fat carnivore, it's the fat that makes all the difference.

EID did at the start of the year, although I suspect, it's less about the health benefits and more because it's "on trend." I'm partially on board but I still eat fish and it's cousins mainly because it's fun to catch and it's free.

We found a pack of sausages in the back of the freezer last week and neither of us was tempted to eat them. I just used them as crab bait. It turns out crabs really like middle class overpriced sausages.

There is a new Vegan place up the street from home.

Sign proclaims its good Vegan food that tastes great.

I dislike vegetables and most plant matter except fruit so I would die on a vegan diet..

Seems to be a fad though these days.

I have been vegan for around 30 years or so now.

Plenty of good vegan recipes around of all colours

I wish that was true - it's still easy to be unhealthy and overweight following a vegan diet as carbs tend to be vegetable / grain based.

I've noticed recently that when I pre-request a lactose-free diet when travelling ........... I sometimes get a vegan meal. I don't like a huge plateful of salad and grains!

I have to admit it is one step better than the vegetarian meal with cheese that I was given on Singapore Airlines.

I’d be ok with that. I often opt for veggie option and just fill up on vegetables. Not a fan of these veggie sausages/burgers etc - they taste like cardboard.

My son went from omnivore to vegetarian to vegan recently. He wants to save the planet!

I am drawn towards vegetarianism more and more but I think vegan(ism) is too extreme for me.

Saving the planet is good!

Does he have one of those plastic bracelets that are funding world ocean clean up? I get the ad pop up on You Tube, seems like such a good idea. Glad someone is doing something about all the garbage in our oceans.
