We all get misguided or misled at times - and from personal experiences, this area seems to be one that misleads many. I agree that at times there have been examples of poor support by social workers but from my experiences these would be the exception, not the rule.

Can't be bothered to read this whole thread but given that a Category 5 hurricane is about to strike Haiti, in all likelihood the US will be forced to reinstate Temporary Protected Status for Haitians anyway. Irony of ironies.

And even more ironically - Canada will have to do it too. So all the people who've just arrived will in fact get to stay. Or if their TPS is still valid in the US, they can go back there.

What a big fat hairy waste of time.

Although there are various other nationalities on TPS in the US whose status will shortly come to an end, so the Haitians were just Chapter 1.
