Re: US Netflix DNS
We changed to US Netflix through our Apple tv (check out YouTube video on how to, and no extra charges) - sooo much more stuff on there. Currently enjoying The West Wing again - every series on there....

Re: US Netflix DNS
For us oldies, could you post a link to the youtube video. I've just set up my Apple TV (and everything else) on a French Livebox/TV d'Orange/Samsung SmartTV and all works fine except Netflix. (Not surprising because Netflix.fr doesn't exist).

Re: US Netflix DNS
To change 'stores' on the samsung TV press the following keys on the remote:
ff 289 rew and enter - You can then change stores to UK or whichever you want. You will only get iplayer etc if it is set up as on the UK store and install netfix also

If you swap to and fro on Netflix, UK/USA etc, do Netflix realise and if they do. Are they bothered?

Re: US Netflix DNS
They will see your account using different services, if they check. I do this every day without issue thus far. However no way of knowing where you actually are. When I was working I was all over the world logging into my accounts, while my family were at home logging in to the same accounts.

Re: US Netflix DNS
.... and it works!!! Thanks Ann.
Now (being on a roll here) I don't suppose anyone has an appropriate DNS code for the UK handy?
BTW, lunch was accompanied by a glass of Cellier des Dauphins Cote du Rhone Villages which retails at the LCBO for about $12. I bought six bottles on offer at E. Leclerc for 11.99 euro, or about $15.60, the lot.
Cheers.

Re: US Netflix DNS
I switched my Netflix over to the US version on my Apple TV last week using that link and it works a treat......
also noticed that Huluplus immediately appears on your Apple TV when you switch over which is also only available in US.................has anybody on here used this service or know if it is any good??????????
....immediately I switched over I realised what poor content the Canadian Netflix has.........almost an embarrassment

Re: US Netflix DNS
I primarily use it for the documentaries and believe me the choice is dramatically larger..... a lot of BBC, History Channel stuff plus more or less everything that is already on the Canadian version I have no idea about films or TV shows because I don't watch those........
this link helps though http://netflixcanadavsusa.blogspot.ca/ <---------- Comparison Site Canada v USA
I think overall the Canadian content is about 1 third of the US...........agreed most is total crap but there is no way I would pay for cable again especially in Canada I was paying about $90 per month within a bundle for absolute garbage tv it now makes me feel better paying $8 dollars a month for crap as opposed to $90 per month for crap.

Re: US Netflix DNS
On the other hand I have an ADSL Orange TV package which includes about 10 sports only channels among a universe of a couple of hundred others. The package also includes unlimited high speed internet and unlimited ADSL telephone to many countries including of course France, UK, US and, yes Canada among others.
This costs 70 euros (about $90) a month. Thanks to Ann my Apple TV thinks it's in the US and the OH's iPad (after a bit of tweaking) thinks it's in the UK.
We're set.
