Lol, yes I have. But bordel doesn't just mean what it literally means... in more familiar french it also means mess, disorganization...kerfuffle...

“Bordel” or “quel bordel”, in my experience runs the gamut from:
- mess/what a mess etc
To
- total F**k up etc.
It’s also, again in my experience, rather more common in French French than in Canadian or Quebecois French. I don’t associate it with military slang.

In “bon québécois”, we’d probably use “f**ke/f**ker as a verb/derivatives thereof...
