UK state pension- bank charges?
Hi
Do Canadian banks charge a fee for receiving your UK state pension?
I keep getting different answers at my bank and others to this.
Some say it is a wire transfer each month and therefore a fee of between $14 to $17 is applied.
Others say it is an electronic transfer and therefore there is no cost.

UK State pension is paid monthly (not available weekly as it is in the uk) by direct electronic transfer, HMRC also converts it to $CAD before they send it using the exchange rate on the day of transfer. I have never incurred any charges.

You can do it yourself and get a better rate. I use UKForex and have it transferred direct to my account with Scotiabank. No charges either end.
