Is there anywhere similar but closer to The Centre of the Known Universe?
RIP Charlie.

The Beach beach has a bar on it, at the bottom of Coxwell.

There is.

Carters Landing I believe. Nice enough spot.

The locals are annoyed as it was not meant to be leased to a corporate. The Landing group bought the lease then got acquired by Cara Foods.

Not much beach at the moment though if you take a walk along. The lake is overflowing these days.

Other options within walking distance of union are the Amsterdam Brewhouse (requires a certain taste in beer) and the Watermark which has been refurbished and is called something else. Both more expensive than the yard.

Any of those options are fine by me (the question is around separate cheques, which is why we have stuck with The Yard)... if we want to do one where we bring the kidlets then perhaps a Saturday afternoon?
