I was good with the "Novo and I are having a beer in the Yard on Wednesday, come if you want" format. Low pressure. As you know, there's always someone in the Yard to chat with even if the event fails completely.

Well, HGerchikov and I had a beer, so it was about the same but more Bellagic.

Sorry this Mississauga idea was a bust, though. I take part of the blame for picking a date I couldn't even make, but at least HG and DBD had a good evening. Even if no one else showed up at the Pump.

I won't try it again, lol.

I am up for the Yard, though, assuming it's on a date I can make, but don't pick the later dates solely on our account!

I kept schtum.

It's been a long year as I tore a back ligament in January which will take 6 to 12 months to heal. I was in Mexico in late April and have been suffering from a very painful skin condition/infection since (thanks to my own stupidity and sun burn) that the doctors are struggling to diagnose. I also switched jobs and have been working harder than I have in 3 or 4 years so combined with medication around the skin condition have been having earlier nights.

The idea was to go West to help ease the burden on Oakvillian attending the meet up but he has always been super busy so the date, if ever tried again, should be chosen by him. I notice he has not been on here much understandably and has also not checked or responded to this. If we do try it again I'd suggest a Saturday where we can start a little earlier to compensate the Eastern travellers for the round trip.

The only other thing is does anyone on here actually live in Mississauga? I am sounding very selfish but it is a trek to get there on a Friday because you are running with the commuter traffic if you want to drive which is a pain for anyone East.

I do realise the Yard benefits me more than most so I apologise for my burb allergy.

Sorry I missed you DBD33. I thought about driving down Friday but had a pretty high fever all weekend. My company after traffic and fever would have been worse than normal and I would have not been able to cheat the system due to drink driving limitations.

TBH, it's just as quick to go to the Yard as to Port Credit and I like the Yard because I always bump into people I know slightly (and some of them have forgotten enough not to take a swing).

And I you but, no doubt, there is alcohol in out futures.

We once had a short - rain stopped play - but enjoyable meet up on Cobourg Beach. There were ankle biters and a dog. We ate chips and got shouted at by a man with a speaker. The authorities didn't approve of the dog which was unfair as he didn't leave any litter.

Is there anywhere similar but closer to The Centre of the Known Universe?
