Good result from the Toon. Showed a lot of character this afternoon.

Yeabut. I'm beyond caring.

If anyone is really really bored they can scroll back several years in this thread to find that I suggested Jurgen Klopp as a good choice as NUFC manager when they instead appointed Joe Effing Kinnear.

From this result it looks like you had a lucky escape.

Ho-di-ho. I lived in Mainz when Klopp was a player and later player-manager for '05. He took Mainz from the cellar of Bundesliga 2 to the UEFA cup (as was). When JFK was hired, Klopp was "on sabbatical", but ignored, he, no doubt reluctantly, signed up for the Borrusia Dortmund job instead.

Ah, well. At least we've still got Mike Effing Ashley.

What Novo said. I actually want to go down just to mess with Ashley's plans.

Oh my! Sorry James but after last week that was a bit special.

It's actually quite nice to have Jose M looking up at the Toon.

Watched it at the Wheatsheef with a Geordie.

Was pretty pissed. Especially with United losing and Liverpool drawing. A chance to go Top 4 missed.

Newcastle deserved it. They dug in in the second half and stopped Tottenham playing.

Lloris should have perhaps stopped the winning goal but there you go.

Merry Christmas from the southern softies.

MANCHESTER United has pledged to stop fans smuggling puzzles, games and books into Old Trafford to keep them occupied during matches.

The club has trained its security staff to spot a sudoku book being concealed inside a match programme and bags are being searched for novels.

Suspicions were raised during the team’s 0-0 draw with West Ham when a Marouane Fellaini near miss was greeted by absolute silence, except for a dispute taking place over a game of ‘Buckaroo!’ in the Stretford End.

A Manchester United spokesman said: “We will not tolerate fans being entertained.”

Season ticket holder Wayne Hayes said: “Since August I’ve read most of Dickens. It has been a literary feast, courtesy of Louis van Gaal.”

He added: “I’m taking my tax return to the Norwich game.”

Well that cheered me up. "The miracle and the mess."
