Default Tom Petty dies of cardicac arrest.

How very sad, just Jeff and Bob left behind now in the Wilburys

When 'Bob' goes there will be an outpouring of grief and retrospective look at his career similar in scope to the death of John Lennon/David Bowie/Prince.

Yes that will a very sad day. Although for me I cant imagine the day Jeff Lynne goes, that will be a real kick in the gut for me personally....he has always been an extremely under rated musician and producer.

I think it his 4 fellow Wilbury's appreciated his talent, infact Mr Petty himself once stated in an interview that he still cant figure out why Jeff remains such a hugely under rated musician.

So very sad. Just the other day was watching DVD of Concert for George (Harrison) some years ago which featured such greats as Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynn, Billy Preston (Preston now deceased also) etc and Tom Petty and his Heartbreakers. Reminds me of how old I'm getting! 😎

No hes very much alive and well and sounding just as good as he did in the 70s and 80s. I can vouch for that after being at one of the ELO concerts at the 02 last year. Amazing

He had a great relationship with Tom Petty....all the Wilburys had a great relationship infact. It says something when 5 great musicians like that worked together and egos didnt get in the way......it worked because they all respected one and other and loved doing it

He is alive but in very bad shape. Cardiac arrest did happen and he's unresponsive at hospital - outlook is not good.

Another great that left this world far too young.

He was probably dead when they found him unconscious. So they worked on him, intubated, kept him technically alive until family and friends were there before withdrawing support.

Just goes to show you really cant trust the media these days....they say things that arn't true just for sensationalism, it seems worse than ever nowadays, or maybe they are being caught out now because of social media...

That is how this report of Tom Petty's death was caught out.

Although in this case it appears they reported what the LAPD said.
