Wife says "Remember when your mum would give you a dollar to go for groceries and you'd come back with 6 eggs, a loaf of bread and a bag of potatoes...you cannot do that these days!"

As you get older it's how the herd thins out that brings it home. Almost all the people in my stories are dead. I don't imagine it gets any better as I go on.
Mind you, my friends haven't all been among the most insurable, but still.....
