Cheesy chips done in the air fryer. I can't be arsed to cook.

I find it a bit much when people keep complaining that stuff doesn't taste the same as it used to. Why don't they just stop eating it and give my ears a rest.

They keep trying because they're more mature than you are and know that success is often the result of effort and determination. It may not make as exciting a read as your drunken escapades but is at least as informative.

It takes too long for meat to thaw out so I see no alternative to kippers and toast and whiskey. And a beer, in accordance with Canada's Food Guide.

Roast lamb tonight. My first cooking of leg of lamb.
Roast spuds/carrots/courgette and gravy. It worked very well.

Decades ago when lamb was a regular roast, I would have mint sauce about one in three. Today it would have been a real treat.

Next time then.

Drool.

Beef rib stew for me tonight. Off to Rotterdam for a few days tomorrow so will hopefully fit in a nice Indonesian "rijstaffel".

Monday night it was goat stew with Brussel sprouts & red skin potatoes

Last night was lean fresh 'pork loin' smashed into schnitzel, with chunks of real mushroom topped gravy & broccoli

Do you have a method for getting them crispy? Or, at least, not droopy?

I have tried a few "guaranteed" methods and they haven't worked for me.

Would fry and refry work, like pukka chips?

We got rid of the fryer (actifry convert now - wonderful invention) but I found they did better in the oven than the fryer anyway.
