Default Clocks go forward this weekend - not UK yet

The clocks are springing forward an hour this weekend but the UK doesn't do theirs until the end of March.

The normal time difference will be reduced by an hour for three weeks.

DST in BC is a load of old bollocks. Keep the time to DST all year long to match that of northern BC. It makes no sense to have Kamloops at one time, and Fort St John at another for 6 months of the year.

Learned something new today, had no idea there were parts of BC in a different time zone.

The area of Yoho, Kootenay National Park, Golden BC is in the mountain time zone. Beautiful area.

California is working on it at the state level but would still need federal approval before it could happen. Florida recently passed state level legislation and federal bill has been introduced to congress to give Florida permission to do so.

Do you have the time written on a piece of paper so that by the time you get to the last clocks they're going to be slow?

Why does it always happen on a Sunday though?

Well dependent on your views Sunday might be considered the slowest day of the week and therefore easier for all concerned to change their clocks based on the premise that there are fewer people working on a Sunday than other days of the week. Yes, I agree you lose an hours sleep when they spring forward and most of us don't relish Monday mornings back to work at the best of times but we also have the advantage of gaining an hours sleep when the clocks fall back. I am sure there is a better explanation on Google than mine.

Any idea what that area is in BC along the US border that appears as yellow and also in Ontario west of Thunder Bay or are those 'typos'. I gather Saskatchewan, except for Lloydminster don't use DST.

That map of Arizona is crazy. It reminds me of this in terms of a border.

Don't know Ontario, but the BC splodge will be Creston - they use Mountain Standard year-round. To the east of them use Mountain Time year round (back and forth), west of them use Pacific time (back and forth), they functionally switch between the two time zones by staying still as everyone around them moves
